The Hover family has been involved in racing for

more than 50 years. Stan Sr, the family patriarch started

racing a flat head ford coupe in 1958, then moved up to the

super modified competing up to as many as 5 times a week. In the

fall of 1965 Stan Sr. hung up his helmet and started Stan Hover Racing

Equipment in Warren, Ohio. It was a full scale racing business selling tires,

wheels, gears and safety equipment out of the shop during the week. On the weekends

Stan took a truck to the local tracks including Canfield, Sharon, Mercer, Greater Pittsburgh,

Expo, Tri City, Heidelberg, North Hills and Lernerville through the fall of 1976.

In October, 1976 Stan Jr purchased the business from his father, adding new product lines

and inventory to the already established family business. In 1982 Stan Jr built the first Hover

Chassis Race Cars and in the Winter built 5 New Race Cars for Customers.  As the business

grew, it was time to expand, so in the fall of 1984, we built a new 4500 SQ FT shop in Vienna,

Ohio. In 1988 with business still thriving we added another 1500 SQ FT on the shop and

purchased more vehicles to service the race tracks including a wearing apparel trailer.  In 2001

it was time to expand once again, and we built a new 12,000 SQ FT shop in Fowler, OH  to

accommodate all the growing demands of our forever expanding business. The New facility

was complete with a showroom, parts department, warehouse and 4 docks. We covered the

race tracks in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Kentucky, and West Virginia.  We serviced 6 to 8

local tracks weekly and up to as many as 12 events per week during special events from April

through October.  We service all types of racing; All STAR SPRINT CARS, WORLD of OUTLAW

SPRINT CARS, DIRT MODIFIEDS, STARS, LATE MODELS, NHRA DRAG RACES until 2004.

In 2009 we expanded to our current location in Warren, OH “Someplace Special” where it all started.  Our new shop is 15,000 SQ FT.  Our new facility is complete with a parts department, shipping department, fabrication shop, machine shop, sheet metal department, two chassis jigs, surface plate and shock dyno.  We still visit the race tracks, but our primary business is selling all types of racing equipment and American Racer racing tires. We service all divisions from Stock Cars and E-mods to Crate Cars and Late Models both Dirt and Asphalt and everything in between. You can purchase everything from a lug-nut or aluminum body to a complete turn key race car built in house to your specifications. We also have a generous amount of slightly used racing equipment for sale for the budget minded racer. Before you pay full price for a big ticket item, call Stan Jr. to see if he has a slightly used one!
